DISINFO: Zelensky is trying to provoke a Russian strike on Kyiv on the Independence Day
SUMMARY
Political scientist, director of the Russian Institute of Political Studies Sergei Markov said that the intensified attacks on Crimea, sabotage and now the attack on Alexander Dugin are links in the same chain. The task of the organizers is to show NATO that the Ukrainian army can harm Russia and get even more weapons out of the West.
Zelensky announced an attack on Kherson. But he knows that it is failing and is now showing strength this way, Markov explains.
These diversions are taking place right now for a reason: August 24 is Independence Day in Ukraine, and Zelensky is trying to provoke a Russian reaction.
“They hope that we will strike at the center of Kyiv - at the parade, showing “monstrous barbarism” before the world,” Markov said.
Markov also put forward the version that the explosion of the car where the philosopher Alexander Dugin was supposed to be, was an attempt by the British to antagonise Russia and Turkey, which was masterfully carried out by the Ukrainian special services.
RESPONSE
Conspiracy theory and pro-Kremlin disinformation about the UK and Ukraine as well as secret services.
There is no evidence to substatiate the claims that Ukraine, UK or any other country was behind the assassination of Darya Dugina in Moscow, daughter of Alexander Dugin.
Russia has almost immediately accused Ukraine of the assassination, providing only dubiuos "evidence", (see also: here and here) that cannot be independently verified.
Ukraine has denied any involvement in the attack.
