DISINFO: Western elites are killing the institute of family and advancing global depopulation
SUMMARY
In Western countries, the institution of a family is being reconsidered and destroyed. Non-traditional relations, childfree status and sex changes are propagated. The western elites decided that a strong middle class and traditional families hinder their power over the population. The disruption of traditional families and lower fertility allows western elites to control population size. Malthusian ideas, which view overpopulation as the major threat to ruling elites, have always been popular in the West. Depopulation measures are considered as important in developing regions and western countries alike.
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on the morally corrupt West mixed with a Malthusian conspiracy about the West’s intention to reduce the global population.
Western values and policies of western countries are presented as pernicious, immoral, degenerate, and a threat to traditional values. The narrative about threatened values is one of the most common pro-Kremlin narratives. It intends to undermine progressive Western attitudes about a variety of normative issues, including the rights of women, ethnic and religious minorities, and LGBTQ groups, among others. Respect for individual choices is often falsely portrayed in the pro-Kremlin media as state policies aimed at propagating and imposing specific actions, such as sex changes on the population.
Liberal-democratic Western societies have institutionalised pluralism, which means the peaceful coexistence of different religions, world-views, and value systems within the same society.
