In reality, the West is not waging a proxy war against Moscow. Western nations supply Kyiv with weapons and provide it with other kinds of assistance to help it stand up to Russian aggression. Russia itself started an unprovoked war against Ukraine under several false pretexts including the need to protect the self-proclaimed separatist entities in Donbas from genocide.
There is irrefutable evidence of Russian troops committing war crimes in Ukraine such as killing civilians, bombing civilian targets and using civilians as human shields. The Bucha massacre is a graphic example of Russia’s violation of the laws of war. According to the Ukrainian police, Russian troops have killed over 1,000 civilians in the Kyiv Region.
