DISINFORMATION CASE DETAILS

DISINFO: US biological lab conducting deadly experiments on Georgian population

SUMMARY

Experiments on people in Georgia. What is happening at Lugar Lab? Dangerous experiments are being carried out at the lab upon the US government’s instructions, while the Georgian government does not listen to its own population and only fulfils the US directives.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation on Lugar Lab. The video offers the remarks by three Georgian respondents, portraying their opinions about the Lugar Lab as “the Georgian population’s” position. Among them is Moscow-based political analyst Alexander Chachia, Georgia’s ex-security chief in 2001-2004, famous for his anti-US stance, Valerian Khaburdzania and Moscow-based businessman Vladimir Khomeriki. More about the sources by Myth Detector. The Richard Lugar Centre for Public Health Research is a facility of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), which became operational in August 2013. The Lugar centre is a top-tiered institution in NCDC’s laboratory network and serves as a reference laboratory for Georgia’s public health system. Under no circumstances has this laboratory been designed or redesigned to build biological weapons. Read other disinformation cases that the lab targets South Ossetia: US instructed the Lugar Lab to create a biological weapon to target South Ossetian population, Lugar Lab intentionally infecting South Ossetians with COVID-19 and EUMM collecting biological materials for the Lugar Lab and dangerous experiments.
