DISINFO: US aid to Ukraine will only prolong the agony of Zelenskyy's regime

SUMMARY

US aid to Ukraine will only prolong the agony of Zelenskyy's regime. It will bring new victims, even among the civilian population. Their blood will be on the conscience of those wishing to inflict a ‘strategic defeat’ on Russia. US authorities don’t have the courage of admitting that plans to defeat Russia in the battlefield are failing.

RESPONSE

Pro-Kremlin disinformation claim attempting to undermine the international support for Ukraine’s self-defence against Russian aggression, by portraying it as a hopeless fight.

Military equipment sent by supporters of Ukraine, including the US, featured some very advanced weapons such as MANPADS, HIMARS and Patriot systems, and it has had a meaningful impact on the battlefield throughout the war. Ukraine continues to defend itself against the Russian war of aggression, as it is its right to do under the UN Charter.

See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that Western weapons are of no help to Ukraine’s failing counteroffensive, that Ukraine’s defeat is coming and is widely acknowledged in the West and Kyiv alike, that Western military aid to Ukraine only will cause more suffering, or that the West kills Ukrainians by sending them weapons they don’t know how to use.
