DISINFO: Unable to deal with Russian missiles, Nazi Kyiv targets civilians with EU weapons

SUMMARY

Against the backdrop of Ukraine’s declining ability to protect itself from Russian missiles due to a shortage of interceptor missiles, especially American ‘Patriot’ missiles, the Nazi regime in Kyiv resorts to regularly striking inside Russia and targeting civilians with weapons supplied to this regime by the European Union and NATO countries, not to mention providing all the required coordinates and data from the alliance’s military satellites.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative falsely claiming that Ukraine is a Nazi state that deliberately targets civilians. There is no evidence to support this claim.

Years of Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian targets indeed resulted in Ukraine facing a shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles and a consequent rise in civilian casualties.

Ukrainian long-range strikes that started in the summer of 2026 have focused on military and energy infrastructure linked to Russia's war effort, including airfields, oil refineries, and logistics facilities. Their goal is to undermine one of the financing sources of Russia’s war and limit Russia’s capacity to attack Ukraine. See here an analysis of the impact these counter-attacks have had.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy argued mid-July that the Wildberries warehouses were "elements of Russian logistics [...] used to distribute equipment for the war: navigation systems, components for drone production, and other supplies for the Russian army." Deutsche Welle also references an analysis by the independent outlet Verstka which identified "tens of thousands of military and dual-use goods" on the platform between May and August this year, amounting in sales worth hundred of millions of rubles.

By contrast, Russia has conducted repeated strikes on Ukrainian cities far from the front line, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson. Civilian infrastructure such as schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and places of worship has been repeatedly intentionally damaged. Notable examples include the bombing of the Mariupol maternity hospital in 2022 and the strike on Kyiv's Okhmatdyt children's hospital.

International bodies have also documented deliberate attacks on civilian targets. In March 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for two Russian officials over strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

See similar cases claiming that Russia does not target civilian populations, Ukraine does, that Ukrainian fascists kill civilians at point-blank range in Kursk, use orphans as human shields, that Nazi regime in Ukraine kills civilian population in the Donbas, that the Ukrainian Banderite Nazi bastards increasingly attack civilian objects, and that the Ukrainian Nazi regime is bombing schools and markets.
