Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative aimed at demoralising society, as well as about Ukraine’s alleged desperation on the battlefield, part of a wider disinformation campaign to promote the idea of a failed Ukrainian counteroffensive, the inevitability of Russia’s victory, and ultimately the need to compromise and accept Russia’s terms.
A video circulated to prove the alleged refusal of Ukrainian soldiers to follow their commander's orders does not mention any specific brigade, battalion, or the location where the military is stationed. Only one outlet reports that the military refused to fight in the direction of Bakhmut. Representatives of the 4th Tank Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is mentioned in pro-Kremlin outlets, have stated that this information is false and confirmed that the brigade is currently engaged in combat tasks near Kupiansk-Liman and Avdiivka.
