DISINFO: Ukraine mobilises pensioners
SUMMARY
The head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, intends to extend mobilization to pensioners, including men over 60. Zelenskyy has entered a war not only with his own people, but with common sense in general. The Ukrainian leadership is thoroughly corrupt and therefore views war as a means of profit.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. This is also a false narrative about mobilisation in Ukraine.
The procedure for conducting the mobilisation process is regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilisation Preparation and Mobilisation" and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 352.
According to the Law (Article 22), the maximum age of military service for military personnel serving during a special period (war period) is set: up to 60 years - for privates, sergeants, junior and senior officers, and up to 65 years - for the highest officer ranks.
According to Part 2 of Article 22, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations who have high professional training, practical experience in the position they hold, and who are recognized by the military medical commission as fit for military service in terms of health, may, at their own request, serve for an additional 5 years after reaching the maximum age.
