DISINFO: Ukraine may undertake a military attack against Belarus to get Western support

SUMMARY

The West seemingly considered an external aggression against Belarus with assistance of local insurgents. However, at this moment, Poland and the Baltic states have no legitimate grounds for attacking Belarus. Yet in case a Belarus-Ukraine conflict emerges, such grounds may arise. Ukraine's Security Service may provoke incidents at the border with Belarus with assistance of pro-Nazi scum. In such a case, the stationing of a big Ukraine military grouping in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine seems logical.

In this scenario, Ukraine will scream that it was attacked by the Belarusian dictator and demand Western assistance. If Poland interferes, then the Russian army will be involved. Ukrainian authorities have totally lost touch with reality, so they can really start a war with Belarus to slow down their political catastrophe.

RESPONSE

Disinformation around the West, the Ukrainian authorities and the Belarusian opposition. It is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the aggressive West and its attempts to instigate colour revolutions in the EU neighbourhood, and Nazi/fascist Ukraine.

There is no evidence that Western countries or Ukraine have aggressive plans towards Belarus or are planning to implement any. The massive unprecedented protests in Belarus following the 9 August 2020 presidential elections were the Belarus people's revolt against election fraud and police violence towards thousands of rally participants. The Baltic states, Poland, and other NATO states, as well as Ukraine, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Belarus, and did not intervene in its domestic affairs nor are planning to do so.

Read similar disinformation cases alleging that the Security Service of Ukraine was behind the arson of the Chernobyl forest, that Ukraine could face a new Chernobyl disaster due to a nuclear graveyard, and that Nazi-like Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic states threaten Belarus.
