DISINFO: Ukraine crisis provoked by US and its satellites
SUMMARY
The outdated Eurocentric and Euro-Atlantic world order has caused a large number of crises around the globe, including the one in Ukraine. Russia has always advocated a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis which arose as a result of the absolutely unceremonious policy of the United States and its satellites.

A recurring disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin outlets claiming that Ukraine’s partners are striving to prolong hostilities as much as possible. This claim was made in the context of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
Russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine is completely unprovoked and unjustified. It was not triggered by the US or any other country but Russia. The Kremlin used several false pretexts to attack Ukraine in February 2022, including accusations of a genocide against the Russian speaking population in Ukraine’s eastern regions. Together with the EU and the US, a broad coalition of 50-plus nations is supporting Ukraine with military and technical assistance to help it repel the Russian aggression and restore its sovereignty over all of its occupied territories. Kyiv is acting in self-defence against the Russian invasion as enshrined in the UN Charter Article 51.
Russia started the war in 2014 when it illegally annexed the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea. Several months later, Russia instigated a separatist revolt in the east of Ukraine and staged a military intervention there. The Minsk Agreements were signed in 2014 and 2015 in order to stop bloodshed there and solve the conflict in a peaceful manner. Illegitimate leaders in non-government controlled areas were constantly violating these deals, which made it impossible to come to a negotiated solution. The war has been characterised by numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity, committed by the Russian armed forces, including the bombing of civilian targets, the shelling of residential areas, and the killing of civilians.
