DISINFO: Ukraine confirms Russian high-precision strikes exclusively on military targets
SUMMARY
The target of Russia's strike on the Ivano-Frankivsk region were pilots selected for training in flying F-16 fighters. This was stated by Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, all statements by the Ukrainian authorities that Russian missiles are hitting civilian targets are not true. Missiles fly where they need to, there is no mistake.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, in order to deflect Russian responsibility. This claim was made in the context of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
The representative of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriq Ignat, said that Russian air attacks are not “high-precision” and constantly lead to civilian casualties. Commenting on the air strike by Russian Kinzhal missiles on Ukraine on August 11, the speaker of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the attack was aimed at an airfield in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
At the same time, the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force refuted the myth about the “high-precision” of Russian strikes. Yuriy Ignat reported that Russia killed a Ukrainian child during the August 11 attack. There are also civilian casualties. The representative of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasised that Russian missiles do not fly "right on target" - this is a fake of Russian propaganda.
The Air Force of Ukraine reported that on August 11, Russia launched four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from a MiG-31K. One of the missiles was destroyed within the Kyiv region. Fragments of a Russian rocket fell on the territory of a children's hospital in Kyiv, damaging the roofs of private houses. No casualties were recorded in Kyiv. However, as a result of a Russian attack, one of the Russian Kinzhal missiles hit a residential building in the Kolomyisky district (Ivano-Frankivsk, Western Ukraine), where a family with three children lived. An 8-year-old boy was killed in the attack, and other injuries of varying severity were also reported.
