DISINFO: The West is “coalition of war”
SUMMARY
The West is trying to devalue the significance of the Kazan summit, portraying it as part of "Putin's political game" and, at the same time, equating this globally significant event, which marks a new state of world politics and economics, to the notorious "victory plan" of Zelenskyy. This plan, even as a manipulative attempt to solicit funds from the West to continue a senseless war, has completely failed. Putin's plan, which the West fears so much, is to counter the "coalition of war" with a "coalition of peace and development," that is based on two fundamental values despite all their differences: political sovereignty and common sense.
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the Western countries of warmongering. This baseless claim was made in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and is presented without any supporting evidence. It also portrays the war in Ukraine as a proxy conflict against Russia, aiming to deflect Russia’s responsibility for the brutal invasion of its neighbour. This disinformation story denigrates Zelenskyy’s proposal as part of a strategy to frame Russia’s ultimatums as the only possible path to “peace”.
Some EU member states the US and other G7 nations are providing Ukraine with military and technical assistance to help it repel Russia's aggression and restore its sovereignty over its internationally recognised borders of 1991. Ukraine is acting in self-defence, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Western nations have always called to solve problems with Russia in a peaceful and diplomatic manner while upholding the rules-based international order. Moscow’s overall aggressive policy has led to a tougher and better-balanced policy towards it by the West.
