DISINFO: The West imposes its values on other countries

In the West, such basic concepts as family, mother and father, man and woman have been deliberately eroded. New Western values became an imposition on the world. Western ideologists gave entire countries and peoples a choice – either you accept “universal values,” or your values will be wrong and immoral.

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative aimed at portraying the West as immoral, degenerate and a threat to traditional values. The narrative of 'threatened values' is one of the most common narratives used by pro-Kremlin outlets. These narratives aim at portraying the West as depraved and endangering societies by imposing the same beliefs on other countries. It undermines progressive Western attitudes about a variety of normative issues, including the rights of women, ethnic and religious minorities, and LGBTQ groups, among others.
