DISINFO: The West discredits the most effective Sputnik V and prevents mass vaccination in Russia
SUMMARY
Facing the pandemic and completely failing management at all levels, the Brussels Areopagus and the authorities of the member states decided to put barriers to the spread of infection through mass vaccinations. However, the colossal rates of infection have not affected the main target of the Europeans. And this is by no means SARS-CoV-2, but Russia.
The battle with the virus was one of the episodes in the war with Russia. The creation of the Russian vaccine, production and the beginning of the vaccination campaign were stages of a battle to discredit the most effective vaccine Sputnik V, and to prevent mass vaccination in Russia.
RESPONSE
An unfounded claim, blaming Western governments and politicians for using the coronavirus issue to fight against Russia, discredit the Russian vaccine and thus feeding into vaccine hesitancy in Russia. This claim is not supported by any facts.
There is no evidence of the EU or its regulatory bodies' bias against the Russian vaccine. The European Medicines Agency launched the rolling review of the Sputnik V vaccine on 4 March 2021. According to reporting by Reuters, the developer of Sputnik V missed a recent deadline of 10 June 2021 to submit required data, which may delay the approval process.
The EMA is committed to applying the same regulatory approach and scientific rigour to all vaccine applications that meet European requirements for safety, efficacy and quality. The agency is also in dialogue with more than 50 vaccine developers from across the globe.
According to reports in the international media, the slow roll-out of the vaccine campaign in Russia is a combination of insufficient production facilities, logistical problems and lack of trust in the state.
Russian authorities have systematically attempted to discredit the Pfizer and the AstraZeneca vaccines.
