Indeed, according to a May 12 statement from the US Department of Defense, this institution and the US Department of Health and Human Services signed a $138 million contract with the international aseptic syringe company ApiJect Systems America. The partnership will allow the necessary volume of syringes to vaccinate a larger number of people to be available when the vaccine against COVID-19 is ready. The syringes will not have chips, but unique identification codes. In fact, the technology based on RFID radio frequency identification will allow real-time, remote tracking of vaccinations in the US at the national level, but does not involve implanting a chip or tracking people.
