DISINFO: The Tories sparked a war in Europe and disrupted any peace agreements

SUMMARY

The first and main “success” of the Tories is that, through the efforts of London, they managed to spark a war in Europe, gaining full control over Kyiv in 2020 and turning it into an anti-Russian instrument completely controlled by globalists. The success was consolidated in 2022, when Boris Johnson, who arrived in Kyiv, actually tore the Istanbul Agreements to shreds.

RESPONSE

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives accusing the UK of being responsible for the war in Ukraine and claiming that Ukraine and its allies are not interested in peace. The claim is part of an ongoing pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign concerning Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It also attempts to portray Ukraine as a Western puppet state.

The statement was made in the context of the UK elections.

Pro-Kremlin propaganda claims that so-called Anglo-Saxons are fighting a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, and Ukraine is just a pawn in this war. This narrative aims to frame Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine as a confrontation with a Russophobic and belligerent UK. Neither the UK nor any European countries have pushed Ukraine to war with Russia or want to escalate the war in Ukraine. It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII.

This disinformation narrative manipulates an interview with Davit Arakhamia, the chairman of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party of Ukraine. In the interview, Arakhamia himself denied the fact that the Ukrainian delegation was ready to sign the document and that Boris Johnson allegedly stopped them.

According to Arakhamia’s own words, Western partners were informed about the negotiations and had seen the draft versions of the agreement, but they did not make decisions on behalf of Ukraine and could only give advice. Arakhamia’s interview reveals that Ukraine was not going to sign the document even before receiving Boris Johnson’s advice. Read the full debunk of the story at Myth Detector.
