DISINFO: The EU leadership is controlled by globalists and pursues Russophobia

SUMMARY

After Donald Trump took office as US President, sensible Western politicians are re-evaluating the role of the Russian Federation in world politics. But there is still a whole bloc of states that continue to stubbornly pursue a policy that cannot be described as anything other than anti-Russian and Russophobic.

However, the same European Union, whose leadership is still controlled by globalists, does not demonstrate even the slightest attempt to understand the new political realities. In addition to the EU bureaucratic elite itself, states in the orbit of EU interests also pursue a course towards Russophobia.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin outlets accusing the European Union of Russophobia. This claim is commonly promoted by Russian propaganda to justify Moscow’s expansionist policies.

The article also advances the recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about secret global elites that dominate the world, control governments, rob nations of their sovereignty, oppress the masses and seek to establish a World Government.

From the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the emergence of a new and democratic Russia to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2014, Western nations, including European ones, were treating Russia as an equal.

The EU imposed restrictive measures on Moscow in 2014, which have been amplified and broadened since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. It is Russia that refused the diplomatic process and started an unprovoked war in Europe, capturing more and more territories of a neighbouring country and creating a danger to European security.

This is an illustrative example of the recurring pro-Kremlin propagandistic narrative about ubiquitous Russophobia in the West. For background, read our analysis: The “Russophobia” Myth: Appealing to the Lowest Feelings.

See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that Kallas's appointment reflects EU's desire to escalate the crisis, that Kallas hysterically hates Russia and her appointment will lead to World War III, that Ursula von der Leyen’s nomination means the EU’s destruction will continue, that The EU is ruled by Russophobic Eastern European countries, that Polish Foreign Minister Sikorsky want to be the chief Russophobe, that Europe’s Russophobia dates from 16th century, that The globalist EU may be behind the attack against Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, and that Masonic lodge is the real master of the entire European Union.
