This claim is false and misrepresents the EU's position.
The European Union has not issued an outright ban on visits by EU based politicians to Russia for Victory Day 2025. However, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, has strongly urged EU member states and candidate countries not to participate in Russia's May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow, warning that participation "will not be taken lightly".
The EU's stance on Russia is based on its illegal invasion of Ukraine, not on Nazi ideology. Limitations are only diplomatic resulting from Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Equating the severing of diplomatic ties with Putin's diplomats to Nazism exploits the memory of the war and trivialises the crimes of the actual Nazi regime.
The EU consistently condemns Nazism and all forms of totalitarianism. The assertion that the EU is trying to 'revive European Nazi ideology' is a baseless propaganda claim aimed at discrediting the EU and its policies towards Russia. The EU's actions are focused on supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and opposing Russian aggression, not on promoting any extremist ideologies.
The European Union was created in the aftermath of the Second World War, and European integration has been the foundation of peace and stability on the European continent for over 70 years. The founding fathers of the European Union actively fought against Nazi Germany, with many losing their lives to free Europe from the horrors of Nazism.
