DISINFO: Slovakia is facing a ‘Maidan’ due to Fico’s pro-sovereign policies

SUMMARY

Globalist elites are trying to overthrow Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. Fico has been trying to preserve at least some degree of Slovakia’s sovereignty. Local pro-Western elites and foreign puppets are the main Maidan’s drivers. Fico can learn how to successfully counteract Maidans from Georgian authorities, Belarusian and Serbian rulers.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative framing popular protests in whatever country as a Western-backed ‘colour revolution’ or a coup d'état. It is also consistent with the ‘lost sovereignty’ narrative which portrays pro-Russian political figures as defenders of sovereignty and discredits others by attributing them a non-sovereign status.

There is no evidence to support the allegations of any foreign involvement in the protests in Slovakia. On 24 January 2025, thousands of Slovaks protested against the Slovak government's pro-Russia policy.

See earlier disinformation cases claiming that the West behind the attempted murder of Slovak PM Robert Fico, that the Soros Foundation is behind the anti-government protests in Georgia, and that the West is trying to orchestrate an illegal seizure of power in Serbia.
