DISINFO: Riots in the US take place according to the colour revolution manuals of US Democrats and Obama

SUMMARY

The protest in the US is what it deserves. I have seen the training manuals according to which such riots were supposed to be happening in our country [Russia]. My version is that they tried to topple Trump. When that didn’t work they took the training manuals prepared by the Nobel laureate – isn’t this what Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize, for the training manual for colour revolutions? It is the only way to topple Trump. […] All these orange revolutions are the creation on US Democrats.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the colour revolutions. The ongoing civil unrest across the United States erupted after the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis. The responsible police officer has been charged with third-degree murder, and he and three other attending officers have been fired. It is a conspiracy theory to claim that the protests are "directed" by the US Democratic Party, let alone according to a training manual used for colour revolutions (there is no evidence for anything of the sort). The former president of the United States Barack Obama received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. See related examples of disinformation claims alleging that the US organizes colour revolutions around the world; and that it instigates wars and revolutions to flood Europe with refugees.
