DISINFO: Reporters Without Borders serve the interests of the collective West

SUMMARY

The World Press Freedom Index is a tool of Western ideology. The creators of the Index, NGO Reporters Without Borders, have a link to the US secret services, including CIA. The organisation is acting in the interests of the collective West. At the same time, Reporters Without Borders ignores problems with freedom of speech in the Baltic countries where access to the Russian media and channels of information in the Russian language was closed.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation claim about the the Western media, allegedly manipulating the topic of freedom of speech.

The claims about Reporters Without Borders are presented without any arguments. This NGO is well-known and respected in the World. Reporters Without Borders has consultative status with the United Nations, UNESCO, the Council of Europe and the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF). The organisation’s work is transparent, Reporters Without Borders openly shares information about its budget. “World Press Freedom Index” is based on clear methodology which is openly available.

The EU has sanctioned Russian state-controlled media outlets that have been used to intentionally spread propaganda and conduct disinformation campaigns, including about Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.

At the same time, exiled independent Russian-language media works freely in the Baltic states.
