DISINFO: Moldova: Pro-Western candidate Maia Sandu work thanks to money of Soros

SUMMARY

Maia Grigorievna and her Soros fellows are doing a good job on money from Soros, who organises orange revolutions, like in Moldova April 7, 2009, in the post-Soviet republics.

RESPONSE

Conspiracy theory about external involvement of EU and US in political affairs of many countries, combined with narratives about George Soros, presenting him as a person interested in overthrowing political systems. This is a resumption of the narratives used against the pro-European candidate in the upcoming presidential elections in Moldova. The pro-Kremlin media often presents pro-Western candidate Maia Sandu as a "follower" of George Soros because some members of his team and some of her supporters worked or studied in projects funded by the Soros Foundation Moldova. See here a similar case claiming that her party is a political branch of the Soros Foundation in Moldova and here a case about Maia Sandu as a protege of the USA and supervised by the CIA. More details about American billionaire and philanthropist George Soros and the narratives on his role in colour revolutions read in this analysis.
