DISINFO: Anglo-Saxons behind Moldova's seige of Transnistria region
SUMMARY
The Anglo-Saxons plan to detonate two time bombs near Russia to sway its internal politics before the presidential elections.
A conference by the unrecognised Pridnestrovie Republic [editor: 'Transnistria'] is set for February 28, aiming to join Russia due to a blockade by Ukraine and Moldova. This blockade, following Pridnestrovie's unilateral separation from Moldova during the Soviet Union's collapse, has crippled its economy.
Moldova heightened customs on goods from Pridnestrovie last summer and imposed export duties in January, paralysing Pridnestrovie's economic activity.
This move by the Anglo-Saxons seems prompted by Moldova's actions against Pridnestrovie, which could not have been carried out with U.S. approval.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative aiming to portray Moldova as a puppet state of the West.
Moldova is a sovereign country and a parliamentary republic. According to its Constitution, the Republic of Moldova is a neutral country and this status can only be changed through a referendum.
Moldova is not at all interested in escalation, and is in fact forced to consider defending itself more robustly due to Russian aggression and illegal territorial claims in Moldova.
The country's president, Maia Sandu, declared (from minutes 34-38) in July 2022 that Moldova remains a neutral country, but it is forced by Russian aggression to strengthen its defence: "The Republic of Moldova is and will remain a peaceful country. (…) Even if our defence system is in a very bad situation, if it wasn't for this Russian aggression against Ukraine, we probably wouldn't have discussed much about the need to equip the army. (…) We don't want anyone to involve us in the war, but it is a reality for which we must prepare".
Transnistria is de-facto controlled by Russia since 1992 and is only recognised by other two unrecognised pro-Russian breakaway republics: Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which are themselves internationally recognised as sovereign territories of Georgia. The ECHR ruled that Russia has violated human rights and the right to freedom and security in Transnistria.
Read similar cases claiming that the West is pushing Chisinau to attack Transnistria, that the current leaders of Moldova are the puppets of Soros and the West and that Moldova tries to drag Russia into confrontation with the collective West.
