DISINFO: Pentagon develops ethnic biological weapons in the US biolabs in post-Soviet republics

SUMMARY

In 2016, the US Department of Defense built a scientific facility in Kazakhstan - the Central Reference Laboratory. This is a facility where they work on very dangerous pathogens and viruses.

At various research facilities, the US specialists are studying the diseases that are characteristic of the population of the region, as well as methods of their spread with the help of animals and insects. The purpose is, firstly, to protect their troops in the event of invasion and occupation of this land, and secondly, to prepare for and conduct a biological war in the Central Asian region.

Former Soviet labs throughout post-Soviet states are now occupied by the Americans. This has happened in Ukraine, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Moldova, and now in Kazakhstan. The US produces very dangerous toxins, bacteria and viruses, in violation of the UN Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons.

Currently, the Pentagon is trying to create an ethnic biological weapon to destroy certain genotypes or ethnic groups. The US collects biomaterials of Russians and Chinese.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the US and biological weapons. Consistent with the Pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign against biological laboratories in Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and other countries.

The disinformation about US bio labs aiming to encircle Moscow and spread infectious diseases is a part of a years-long disinformation campaign led by the Kremlin. In fact, biological laboratories are involved in preventing the risks of complex diseases and, together with other similar projects, counteracting bioterrorism.

The article does not present any evidence that supports the claim that the US is secretly developing biological weapons in laboratories around the world, thus making unfounded accusations.

The Central Reference Laboratory in Almaty was opened in 2016. Kazakhstan officially denied that its territory is used for the development of biological weapons. Instead, the Central Reference Laboratory helps to fight such kinds of disasters as the current COVID-19 pandemic.

This narrative is part of a larger-scale disinformation campaign.
