DISINFO: Operation Kursk is being transferred to Moldova - Transnistria
SUMMARY
Operation Kursk is being transferred to Transnistria. There is intense activity on the border with Transnistria. Kyiv is actively transferring units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the Odessa region, mainly equipped with light and manoeuvrable equipment. In addition, there was a report about Ukraine introducing restrictions on movement along the border with Transnistria, which raises additional concerns. All this resembles preparations for a possible intervention in the republic, as in Operation Kursk.
The scenario is already familiar. With the help of mobile brigades of the "striker" type, the Ukrainian armed forces can violate the border and invade Transnistria, using drones and the support of high-precision NATO weapons.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that the West will open new fronts to divert Russia. The claim is groundless. Transnistria, a territory on the border with Ukraine that separated itself, with the support of Russia, from the Republic of Moldova in 1992, is still, officially, part of the Republic of Moldova. The Moldovan authorities are still looking for a peaceful solution to the Transnistrian conflict. They exclude any military intervention to solve it. Similarly, the leaders of Ukraine, especially after the start of the full scale aggression of Russia against Ukraine, have repeatedly declared (min 13:50-15:00) that they respect the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and have no intention (min. 7:56-9:49) of attacking Transnistria.
