DISINFO: New date for Ukrainian offensive in Donbas

SUMMARY

Kyiv found a new date for its offensive against the republics in the Donbas, which will be closer to the winter. Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the Yalta European Strategic Forum that an unrestricted war between Russia and Ukraine is "likely."

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing Ukraine of planning war in the Donbas.

According to President Zelenskyy, Ukraine is committed to the Minsk agreements. He has also stated that Ukraine has taken significant steps to de-escalate the situation in the East.

Moreover, President Zelenskyy never said the all-out war between Russia and Ukraine was "likely" at the Yalta Forum. The claim deliberately twist his words. He actually said, in response to a question, that "It's the worst thing that could happen, but unfortunately there is that possibility."
