This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the West of direct involvement in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, equating Ukraine to a US puppet state and a tool of the West against Russia.
Ukraine and its population are defending itself against Russian full-scale aggression. This is in line with the UN Charter, article 51 on self-defence, and is not a decision by NATO, the EU or others, but a remarkable display of continued courage and determination.
NATO as an organisation is not involved in this war and does not supply Ukraine with weapons.
