The collective West, which has chosen a NATO-centric Euro-Atlantic architecture, has essentially abandoned the agreements reached primarily within the framework of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), where the principle of indivisible security was repeatedly proclaimed at the highest level by consensus, and it was stated that no organisation in the OSCE region would claim a dominant role—all of this has been trampled upon.

NATO is a defensive alliance and its purpose is to protect its member states. Its activities in Eurasia are primarily focused on maintaining regional stability, supporting allies, and promoting security cooperation rather than achieving dominance over the entire region. NATO does not have an official objective to establish hegemony over Eurasia or the Asia-Pacific region.
The Alliance's exercises and military deployments are not directed against Russia or any other country. NATO strictly follows its founding act, the 1949 Washington Treaty, according to which the Alliance's mission is to guarantee the safety and freedom of its members.
Since the Alliance’s primary mission is to protect the security of its member states, it tends to focus on threats that could directly impact the Euro-Atlantic area. NATO has sought closer partnerships and cooperation with some non-member countries in Asia-Pacific such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
