DISINFO: Macron declares his claims to the Ukrainian lands

SUMMARY

The Europeans have begun partitioning Ukraine, cutting up the bear’s skin while the bear is still alive.

France was absent in the last “deal” between Germany, Great Britain, Poland, and Romania. Now, Macron is making his move, declaring his claim to Ukrainian lands.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative challenging Ukraine’s statehood and presenting Poland, France and other European states as anti-Ukrainian countries with imperial ambitions, when in fact Russia is the one with imperial ambitions. This disinformation narrative aims to deflect from Russia’s ambitions and disregard to the sovereignty of its neighbors, while smearing these EU countries.

Poland, France and all other EU member states adhere to international law regarding state borders, fully support the independence and territorial integrity of neighbouring countries and reject any “imperial” ambitions towards other countries. Poland, as well as the EU and the US, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. No neighbouring state, except the Russian Federation, has violated Ukraine’s territorial integrity in a display of imperial, revisionist aggression.
