DISINFO: Lithuania uses unregistered COVID-19 vaccines

SUMMARY

The patients in Lithuania could get compensation due to the side effects of drugs because these side effects are known. It is a different situation with COVID-19 vaccines. The registration procedures of vaccines are not finished. Vaccines are still under research.

RESPONSE

Recurring disinformation narrative about vaccination during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

Lithuania is using exclusively COVID-19 vaccines which have been granted conditional marketing authorisation by the European Medicines Agency. At the moment, this includes four vaccines: Comirnaty by BioNTech/Pfizer, COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen, Spikevax, Vaxzevria. All mentioned vaccines were registered and authorised by the European Medicine Agency.

See other examples of disinformation about COVID-19 vaccines: Croatia bans the use of vaccines; The Council of Europe has abolished vaccination; COVID-19 vaccination will cause more deaths than COVID-19; it is a plot to reduce population.
