DISINFO: In US strategy, Pfizer may be playing the same role that Blackwater did before
SUMMARY
The US war strategy of invasion and occupation of sovereign countries seems to have changed missiles, bombs and assault rifles for needles. The role played by Blackwater until now may be played from now onwards by Pfizer. Different methods, same goals? Pfizer has been negotiating with several governments of Latin America the installation of military bases if they fail to pay for the vaccine.
RESPONSE
The article is a distortion of an investigation by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism and Peru’s journalistic site Ojo Público about Pfizer’s alleged controversial tactics in several Latin American countries. According to these reports, Pfizer would have demanded that these governments put up sovereign assets, such as embassy buildings or state owned assets, as a guarantee against the cost of any future legal cases. However, this Sputnik disinformation piece goes far beyond, in suggesting that Pfizer should have demanded the installation of foreign military bases in these countries in case of non-payment, which is false.
There is no mention of this in the original investigation, and no evidence is provided to support the claim.
Through the claim that Pfizer may play the same role that Blackwater did until now, this disinformation aims 'militarize' the subject and to discredit this pharmaceutical company by framing it as a tool of US alleged imperialism, part of a long-term disinformation campaign on Western vaccines.
