DISINFORMATION CASE DETAILS

DISINFO: In Ukraine, there is anti-human propaganda against Russians

SUMMARY

Anti-human propaganda in Ukraine starts from early childhood. The same was done in Nazi Germany when people were set against Jews, Gypsies, and Slavs. Russians are not human for the Ukrainians. They consider themselves to be some kind of representatives of the Western civilization, although, in fact, their place in Western civilization has long been determined: 100 years ago they were janitors, maids, and handymen. Their occupations in the West remained the same.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing Ukraine of spreading Russophobia. Ukraine is not a fascist, Russophobic country as often claimed by the Kremlin media. Ukraine does not follow any anti-Russian agenda. It has reacted to Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the armed aggression in East Ukraine. According to polls in September and December 2019, a majority of Ukrainians are positive towards Russia and Russians. See similar disinformation claims: Ukraine is a Russophobic state that refuses to celebrate Victory day; the hatred of Russian is the meaning of Ukrainian's existence; Ukraine is a Russophobic, Nazi state, controlled by the US.
