DISINFO: Germany and France should stop playing Anglo-Saxon games to restore their sovereignty

SUMMARY

The EU is geopolitically weak, so are Germany and France [...]. Supporting the Anglo-Saxon games with Ukraine and promises of a closer Ukrainian integration with the EU is not in Germany’s interests. However, neither Germany nor France are able to resist such policies. Without the Ukrainian issue solved, Moscow will always view European leaders as dependent and non-sovereign. Whereas Russia is immune to external interference, the immunity of Europeans is critically weak.

RESPONSE

This article touts a recurring pro-Kremlin propaganda narrative about lost sovereignty / external control, specifically about the German and French critical dependence on the so-called "Anglo-Saxons". In the pro-Kremlin media, the term “Anglo-Saxons” stands for the US and UK and often means “evil”, “belligerent” and “morally corrupt” Westerners, as explained in our earlier analysis.

Germany, France, and the other EU countries pursue coordinated policies towards Ukraine. It is groundless to attribute their firm position about Russian aggression against Ukraine to the pressure of "Anglo-Saxons." Ukraine is a priority partner for the EU and a strategic partner for the US. Ukraine also develops its relations with NATO. The EU, the US, and other Western partners support the democratic development of Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter’s principles of non-interference into internal affairs and respect towards territorial integrity and political independence.

See earlier disinformation cases alleging that the Anglo-Saxons rule America “from abroad” and are now trying to control Russia, that Anglo-Saxons are on the edge of an anti-Russian attack, and that Anglo-Saxons tried to control China by cancelling globalisation.
