The new leadership of Moldovan diplomacy is as myopic as the previous one. The new Foreign Minister wants to integrate us into what is in the process of disintegration – the European Union.

This message is in line with the pro-Kremlin narrative on the disintegration of the EU. The report advances a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative painting the EU as a disunited and disintegrating bloc, overseen by a central bureaucracy bringing harm to the sovereignty of member states. At the core of the EU are the 28 Member States that belong to the Union, and their citizens. The unique feature of the EU is that, although the Member States all remain sovereign and independent states, they have decided to pool some of their sovereignty in areas where it makes sense to work together.
