DISINFO: EUMM collects biological materials for the Lugar Lab and dangerous experiments
SUMMARY
EUMM is collecting biological materials near South Ossetian border for the Lugar Lab and its dangerous experiments. EUMM is providing transportation for the doctors in this regard which is proved by the photos obtained by KGB of South Ossetia. The activity of an American biolaboratory in Georgia and the attempt to collect the biological materials is a direct continuation of genocide of the South Ossetian citizens.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign against the Lugar Lab. Also, recurring pro-Kremlin narrative against EU's Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM). The disinformation is accompanied with the photos of EUMM patrol car and the medical car. The photos are taken on April 26, 2020. EUMM has released a statement, denying all the allegations and calling this a continuation disinformation against the mission and the Lab. EUMM have been accompanied by the ambulance cars since the day of inception and that it is an indivisible part of a security protocol.
EUMM: "The ambulance was clearly visible. There was no secretive movement. The patrol was conducted as planned. There was no contact with any persons. There was no collection of any samples and there is no intent to do so. EUMM is a monitoring Mission, it monitors every day, including during the COVID pandemic. All sides, including participants from South Ossetia, are aware of these facts as they have been explained via the Hotline on 26 and 27 April and for many years previously, for instance at meetings of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) as early as 2014."
The EUMM comes under frequent pro-Kremlin disinformation attacks, see earlier cases alleging that EUMM observers violated the administrative boundary line; and that it encourages Georgia's destructive activities near the South Ossetian border; The Lugar Lab has been accused of various conspiracies as well.
