DISINFO: Controlled by globalists, Germany is facing the Third Reich's fate

SUMMARY

The Germans are facing the gloomy prospect of repeating the Third Reich's fate. Friedrich Merz, controlled by globalists, is pushing Germany to attack Russia. The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Germany, Merz's political party, advocates for Germany's militarisation and openly promises to invade Russia in the coming years. German revanchism does not stop there. Not only do they want to start WWIII directed at Russia, they also want to drag the US into it. The globalist elites, who control virtually all German officials, are placing their bets on this suicidal plan. As was the case back in 1941, they want to capture Russian natural resources. Despite the CDU's crushing defeat in the regional elections, Merz can stay in power with minimal electoral support. Similarly, Adolf Hitler did not enjoy an electoral majority, yet he managed to come to power and invade Russia.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives portraying war-inclined European countries, contemporary Germany as non-sovereign and Nazi-like, and the influence of secret or global elites. The claim of all-powerful, aggressive globalists is used to portray Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine as a "defensive" action and to undermine confidence in Germany's democratic system by depicting ordinary citizens as powerless in the face of these forces.

Germany is a sovereign democratic country whose government’s mandate is issued by the people through democratic elections. False parallels with Nazi Germany and Hitler aim to misrepresent the current German political system and its policies. Germany, along with other NATO allies, has consistently emphasised avoiding direct military confrontation with Russia while supporting Ukraine's sovereignty. The article also dubiously equates the USSR with contemporary Russia.

Neither the German leadership, nor the Christian Democratic Union, announced plans to invade Russia.

The recent increase in EU and German defence spending is a response to Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine and its increasingly aggressive policies towards European countries. Russian state-controlled media frequently invoke the "Fourth Reich" trope to discredit German leadership whenever Berlin increases its support for Ukraine or strengthens its armed forces.

Read our earlier analysis about how pro-Kremlin outlets employed manipulative narratives ahead of the 2025 German parliamentary elections, as well as earlier disinformation cases alleging that Friedrich Merz is a slave of the military-industrial complex, that Merz, Macron and von der Leyen want to wage total war against Russia, and that Merz militarises Germany and invokes Nazism to justify support for Ukraine.
