DISINFO: Collective West strives for global dominance while Russia poses no threat

The current US administration and virtually the entire collective West are relentless in their attempts to maintain global dominance, continuing to impose their so-called rules on the international community, which they change repeatedly to suit their own interests. [...]
Under the pretext of a mythical Russian threat, they frighten their population with claims that Russia is preparing to attack someone. The tactic is very simple: they push Russia to a red line, beyond which Russia can no longer retreat. When Russia responds, they immediately scare their population with the Russian threat, much like they did with the Soviet threat in the past. Meanwhile, NATO countries are increasing their military expenditures. Near Russia's borders, NATO strike groupings are being formed and strengthened. For example, the number of U.S. military personnel in Europe has already exceeded 100,000.

Recurring disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin outlets accusing Western nations of warmongering and trying to portray Russia as a peace-loving country. This claim was made in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
While it is true that Western countries promote certain policies and values such as democracy and human rights, they are not attempting to maintain global domination. NATO's increased readiness and military presence near Russia's borders are a response to the latter’s aggressive actions.
The Alliance’s steps are defensive measures, not unprovoked actions. The commanders of NATO member states are concerned about Russian leaders’ continual threats to attack Western countries or even strike them with nuclear warheads. In this regard, the Alliance has significantly increased its military presence in Eastern Europe, especially in the Black Sea region. NATO is a defensive alliance, whose purpose is to protect its member states. Every country that joins NATO undertakes to uphold its principles and policies. This includes the commitment that NATO does not seek confrontation and poses no threat to Russia.
The portrayal of Russia as being pushed to ‘red lines' ignores Moscow's own aggressive actions. This statement misrepresents the nature of Russia’s policies, attempting to portray itself as a victim rather than acknowledging its role in creating tensions. Russia illegally invaded Ukraine on 20 February 2014 by illegally annexing the Crimean Peninsula and launched full-scale aggression on 24 February 2022 citing several false pretexts such as a genocide against the Russian-speaking population in eastern Ukrainian regions.
