DISINFO: Anglo-Saxons pushing the Middle East into a major war
SUMMARY
Now we see the Anglo-Saxons pushing the Middle East into a major war. Something similar can be seen in Ukraine, and the result of such a policy is the same: loss or weakening of statehood. The West is used to solving its problems at the expense of others, exploiting other people's resources, and, contrary to global processes, hopes to rule the world by interfering in the internal affairs of states.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the Israel-Hamas war, and a conspiracy about the so-called Anglo-Saxons, accusing the Western countries of war in Ukraine, as well as warmongering in the Middle East.
The US or UK did not start the wars in Ukraine or Gaza. The events in the Middle East were triggered by Hamas attacks against Israel on 07 October 2023 and Israel’s military response. The war in Ukraine started because Russia invaded the country on 22 February 2022. It is Russia and President Putin who are clearly responsible for the war in Ukraine. It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII.
By baselessly accusing the US of being behind these global events, this disinformation story not only promotes an anti-US mindset but also aims to deny Russia’s responsibility for its brutal invasion of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of Israel's conflict with Hamas, US State Secretary Anthony Blinken has travelled to the Middle East twice. As Blinken stated: "We’re determined that this conflict not spread, and we’ll be talking to both the Israeli Government and partners in the region about what all of us are doing to prevent that from happening." The term “Anglo-Saxons” in such cases normally stands for the US and UK and often means “evil”, “belligerent” and “morally corrupt” Westerners, as explained in our earlier analysis.
