DISINFO: American scientists warn of Pfizer vaccine's deadly effects

SUMMARY

American scientists have revealed that the "Pfizer-BioNTech" vaccine causes neurological problems that may lead to fatal diseases, including Alzheimer's disease.

The American journal "Microbiology & Infectious Diseases" published a study, which was prepared by scientists working on this topic, which found that genetically modified proteins used in the "Pfizer" vaccine are able to change human DNA.

The researchers also noted that once the vaccine is injected into the body, the human body will not remain as it was before as the proteins begin their function in the body.

According to the journal, the vaccine has received full and emergency approval in the United States without serious testing of the product's safety on humans in the coming years.

RESPONSE

This is part of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign aiming to discredit Western vaccines. whiile promoting the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.

The mentioned study has appeared in the "Microbiology & Infectious Diseases" journal in January 2021 which is published by SciVision, a company that appears in the Beall's list of suspicious publishers. The journal itself is not listed on Pubmed, which is the major US index of scientific medical publications.

Jacob Yount, associate professor in the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity at Ohio State University, told The Dispatch Fact Check that the Classen study, “seems to be based on gibberish [nonsense, Ed.] presented in a seemingly scientific manner".

Yount added that:

mRNA vaccines have a longer history of testing in humans that started several years before the COVID vaccines, and these past vaccines were found to be safe and have not resulted in prion disease. Further, the mRNAs themselves are degraded by our cells in a matter of days, so I do not find any reason to think that the mRNAs delivered to cells in our arm muscle would have a direct effect on proteins in the brain.

Vincent Racaniello, professor of microbiology and immunology at Columbia University, described the article as “flawed.” He told The Dispatch Fact Check that “the study [...] is a theoretical exercise in which he assesses if the mRNA vaccine can convert cell proteins to prion conformations".

"the exercise is completely speculative and flawed and no conclusions can be drawn from this study. Hence the claims on social media are completely wrong as they are based on a flawed study from which no conclusions can be made," added Racaniello.
