DISINFO: A new Austria-Hungary alliance coordinated by Vatican will make the EU disintegrate

SUMMARY

The EU, as it is known today, will not last long due to political and economic factors. A new Austria-Hungary state with access to the sea will emerge. It will include Catholic countries, northern Italy, Czechia, Slovakia, and Slovenia, possibly the Bavarian region. Hungary may take over Transylvania and part of Croatia. At the same time, Poland and Lithuania risk losing their lands to a new Prussia, Belarus, and Russia.

RESPONSE

This is a modification of a recurring disinformation narrative about the alleged disintegration of the EU. As our past analysis explains, the ‘imminent collapse’ narrative is often used in pro-Kremlin outlets in relation to the EU, European countries, or capitalism. See similar disinformation cases in our database: the EU will split in half within five years; the EU is to fall apart in 20-30 years, Poland and Hungary are likely to leave the EU.

Interestingly, the Vatican is quite often mentioned in big conspiracies spread by pro-Kremlin outlets. See a few earlier topical disinformation cases: Four large clusters of world elites manage global events; The Pope is at the service of the globalists' fight against white Christians; Pope Francis is a servant of George Soros and the global Zionist conspiracy.

Disclaimer

Cases in the EUvsDisinfo database focus on messages in the international information space that are identified as providing a partial, distorted, or false depiction of reality and spread key pro-Kremlin messages. This does not necessarily imply, however, that a given outlet is linked to the Kremlin or editorially pro-Kremlin, or that it has intentionally sought to disinform. EUvsDisinfo publications do not represent an official EU position, as the information and opinions expressed are based on media reporting and analysis of the East Stratcom Task Force.
